You’ve Got A Friend

Let me tell you about my best friend.

You see we met and truly became friends after both of us experienced a loss of a friend; one’s childhood and the other’s best.

I’d be lying if I didn’t daydream of what friendship the three of us could’ve had together, but for now it’s just us two.

A sweet friendship refreshes the soul Proverbs 27:9

Just an afternoon with mine gives me rejuvenation, perspective, and just a good ol’ cheerful heart. Whether it has been a day or a month since our last get together, we pick up right where we left off the last time.

We laugh oh so good at our mishaps in motherhood. We share our deepest thoughts and concerns without thought of judgment. We cheer each other on, support each other through transition periods, and pray hard for one another when we don’t know which way to go. It seems as though we’ve been through it all.

Today I write this to say thanks to my dear friend, but also as a reminder to us all.

Be the friend, not just the acquaintance. Go the extra mile for another human being. Listen, without judgement. Laugh together until tears are streaming down your face. Cheer on and love hard.

May you all find and also be that person who helps others see that life is so much sweeter when we don’t try to do it all alone.

Friendships are truly good for the soul.

Love you my friend ❤️
