L-O-V-E

Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always perseveres.
Love never fails.

You've probably heard this before. Most of the times you hear this passage at weddings. You might've even had it read at your own wedding.

Love.

A frequent word used on a daily basis with multiple meanings. A mother says to her child, "I love you sweetie." A girl says to her best friend, "I love ya girl!" Or a random person on a Tuesday says, "I love tacos."

Same word, but different meanings. One represents a bond between mother and child, one represents a special friendship, and the other represents a desire for a certain type of food. They are all different, but they could all be completely genuine, even the love for greasy goodness wrapped in a tortilla shell.

Ironically, the world shouts "love one another" while pointing fingers. The world shouts "be kind" after dishing out insults. The world shouts "be accepting" while disassociating with those who think different.

The world rarely gets it right. They might be partially right, but being partially right is being partially wrong, which is a dangerous thing.

Read it again.

Love is patient, love is kind
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always perseveres.
Love never fails.

It waits, not impolitely tapping its foot as the minutes tick by, but with a smile on its face.
It is kind, speaking words of encouragement, not spouting off the first sarcastic remark it can think of.
It isn't envious of things or people, it doesn't go around telling others how important it is, it isn't above accepting apologies or dishing them out.
It doesn't bad-mouth others who disagree with them, it doesn't push its own agenda to get what it deserves. It is calm, not fiery, not spiteful, it doesn't cause dissension.
It wants the truth to be heard and works tirelessly to do so.
It ensures safety, it is faithful, and it never gives up.
Love doesn't lose.

The right kind of Love wins every.single.time.

The perfect kind of Love is one worth fighting for. Keep fighting the good fight.

With love,
Tori
