What You Say Isla?
Isla keeps us entertained on a daily basis with her attempts to use her new found vocabulary in appropriate ways. She often mispronounces words when trying to apply them in a new situation.
My Isla girl.
When she speaks, she speaks with the utmost confidence; thinking she is completely 100 % right. I don't always, but sometimes I'll correct her and say, "You mean...." She'll respond, "Yeah that's what I meant." Then she moves onto the next thing she has got her mind set on.
Her child-like innocence coupled with her resiliency makes me smile. No negativity, no defensiveness, just the understanding that life is full of learning experiences and mistakes mean that you are living.
So let us remember,
Be teachable.
Be humble.
Be able to laugh.
Be moveable when it is time to be moveable.
Take your cue from a smart little girl named Isla.
With love,
Tori
Some of my favorite are:
"Mom, I'm just showing you this as an exampling."
"Hey Emry! Mom brought back fortune cookies from the Polar Express."
"Mom, did you use air conditioner in my hair tonight?"
"Shiver me tender."
"Mom, these Cheez-lits are so good."
"Is she just imaginating?"
"Mom, I used to like wacamole, but not anymore.
