What Are Dads Made of?
Not sure if anyone remembers the old nursery rhymes What Are Little Girls Made Of? or What Are Little Boys Made Of?
Today is Father's Day, a time where we like to remember our fathers and how they have influenced our lives. As I was reflecting on my own experiences, this poem popped in my head and I got to thinking, what are the things the fathers in my life have shown me?
Over the years I have realized my husband and my Dad are a lot alike, which I don't really think is an accident. They have both taught me things that are invaluable and I am extremely grateful for both of these men in my life.
Fathers of little girls or boys just remember they are watching and they want to be just like you!
For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children, encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory. 1 Thessalonians 2:11-12

What are Dads made of?
Strength and love,
and great big hugs.
Dedication and support,
and protection of all sorts.
Knowledge and wisdom
and sacrifice for his children.
This is what Dads are made of.
